How to Fix or Hide Those Mistakes If you make a mistake on your cardstock, try covering it up with an embellishment, another layer or other item. If all else fails, turn the card stock over and use the other side. by Julie Warner If the cardstock you are using is white and you make a mistake coloring with a water based marker or any non-permanent dye ink, try painting on a very small amount of bleach. This will remove most colors of markers and dye ink. Use the bleach sparingly and do not rub it as this will tear the cardstock. Important: Always use a Synthetic bristle paintbrush with bleach because bleach will eat up a natural bristle paintbrush. by Julie Warner If the mistake is just not fixable, save it anyway. Cut into strips or odd size pieces and make a mosaic out of it (see Fish Mosaic card). This also works well with scrap pieces. by Julie Warner Stipple brushes are a stampers' best friend. If you accidentally get a smudge on your card cover it up by stippling color over it. Stipple brushes can be used like a stencil brush by pouncing or my favorite use is swirling because I get a smoother effect of color. by Sue Wisniewski |
