Pigment Powders
by Jenna Roby
Supplies:
- Rubber stamps (solid or minimal detail images work
best)
- Versamark Watermark ink pad
- Pigment powder
- Anti static pad or powder
- Medium to dark cardstock
- Sm. soft round brush
- Lg. stiff flat brush
- Scrap paper
- Matte spray sealer
1)
Dust the card stock with the anti static pad.
2)
Stamp the image using the Versamark ink.
3)
Use the sm. brush to gently apply small amounts of the pigment powder to
the image using a gentle swirling and/or patting motion.
4)
When the image has a light covering of powder, use the flat brush to
gently whisk the extra powder onto scrap paper and then pour the excess back
into the jar. (Be careful to not breathe in the pigment powders!)
5)
Apply several light coasts of the spray sealer (outside or in a very well
ventilated area) to the finished piece to prevent powder transfer.
This technique is good for both main images and
backgrounds. Pigment powders are safe for scrap books and the sealer keeps the
powder from getting all over.
