CD Case Calendar
- Flip CD case backwards and it will stand-alone.
- Cut each background piece to 5”high X 4-5/8” wide.
- Trim calendars as closely as possible.
- Change “layout” for each month by sliding behind the
tabs where a CD front cover would normally go.
January
Create background on glossy cardstock using alcohol inks. White emboss
snowflakes. Secure ribbon using glue dots. Sponge edges and background of
calendar with lavender ink. Adhere toward bottom of background. Secure bead caps
(silver snowflake thingies) with silver brads.
February
White emboss words on red background. Cut piece of drywall tape about 5”
long, then cut in half lengthwise. Place toward top of background. Off-stamp
heart background with red ink and stamp calendar – sponge edges. Place toward
bottom of background.
String heart charm, word beads and red beads onto earring
hoop. Tie fiber through hanging hoop. Punch holes through mesh and thread fiber
to back and tie to secure.
March
Ink stamp by tapping flower portion with lavender
inkpad and leaves with green. Mist inked stamp lightly with water and stamp;
repeat as often as desired. Lightly sponge background with green ink; sponge
edges with green ink. Punch corners with corner punch and mat background with
lavender cardstock. Sponge background and edges with lavender ink. Mat with
lavender cardstock. Apply glue to corners with glue pen and add glitter. Glue
calendar to background – add postage stamps. Secure ribbon with glue dots and
add button.
April
Secure lace onto pattern paper background with glue dots. Sponge background
of calendar with pink ink; sponge edges with black ink. Glue to background.
Stamp rose image onto clear shrink plastic with black ink; cut into squares and
punch hole in opposite corners; shrink according to manufacturer directions.
Apply pink ink to back of rose tile and dry with heat gun. Paint edges with gold
Krylon pen. String beads onto gold wire and wrap around tiles. Glue to lace.
May
Sponge edges of pattern paper and calendar with brown ink. Sponge
background of calendar with gold ink. Glue to background. Gold emboss image
toward top of background. Gold emboss image on green and gold cardstock. Cut out
leaves from green image and flowers from gold image. Add shadows to flowers
using a blender pen and chalk. “Assemble” over top of original image and glue
down.
June
Stamp shells background stamp onto background of calendar with brown ink;
sponge edges with brown ink. Repeatedly stamp grassy image onto brown cardstock
background with brown ink. Gold emboss image at bottom. Glue mini shells as
desired.
July
Punch corner slots in red mat. Using blue ink, stamp star background on
blue cardstock. Gold emboss fireworks. Slide blue layer under corner slots and
glue. Stamp fireworks onto calendar background using blue ink; sponge edges with
blue ink. Adhere to background. Add patriotic postage stamps as desired.
August
Stamp greeting onto glossy cardstock with resistant ink. Brayer with
Flannel Kaleidacolor inkpad. Stamp dragonfly image with black ink; sponge edges
with black ink. Mat brayered layer with green cardstock. Stamp dragonfly images
onto background of calendar using Kaleidacolor inkpad; sponge edges with black
ink. Thread dragonfly charm with jump ring onto ribbon and attach to background
with glue dots.
September
Stamp flower image on gold background with rust ink. Sponge edges with
black ink. Stamp flower image on calendar with Flannel Kaleidacolor inkpad (off
stamping first); sponge edges with black ink; mat with rust cardstock. Glue to
background. Cut about 5” of dry wall tape, and then cut in half lengthwise;
brayer with rust ink. Adhere to bottom of background. Add decorative staples.
Black emboss flower on gold cardstock and cut out. Color and add shading with
markers; blend with blending pen.
October
Stamp pumpkins on calendar using orange ink. Sponge edges of calendar with
black ink and mat with orange cardstock. Black emboss pumpkins several times on
orange cardstock and cut out; glue to bottom of background.
November
Repeatedly stamp leaf images and script background on gold cardstock with
gold ink. Mat with rust cardstock. Repeated stamp leaf image on background of
calendar using Kaleidacolor inkpad; mat with green cardstock. Brayer glossy
cardstock with Flannel Kaleidacolor inkpad and repeated stamp leaf image using
black ink. Cut out leaves and arrange at bottom of background, overlapping each
other. Attach ribbon with glue dots.
December
Stamp text background on black glossy cardstock with Gold Brilliance ink.
Stamp Santa Moon image on background of calendar. Edge calendar with gold Krylon
pen. Glue to background. Attach gold ribbon using glue dots. Attach light bulb
brads as desired.
