Art Instructions:
Cut (5) 10” squares of iridescent wrapping paper (note:
this paper was originally a pink/yellow color).Rub a different color of the
Ancient Page inks over each square then buff lightly with a paper towel to
remove the streaks. Cut 1 inch strips from 4 of the colors and fold each strip
in half lengthwise. Place the strips according to the Iris folding pattern in
the book and tape together (the side you are working on will become the back
side). Using the tag template, cut the smaller tag shape in the center of a 5 ½”
x 3 ½” piece of the lime sparkle c/s. Discard tag. Trace and cut a larger tag
shape around the tag opening on the same piece. Attach Iris folded piece behind
the tag opening as shown. Edge with the blue marker. Punch a ¼” hole in top of
tag. Punch another ¼” hole in a scrap of the wrapping paper, then punch a ½”
hole around it to make the reinforcement for the tag. Attach over hole in tag.
Thread the cord and fibers through the hole. Attach tag to the remaining square
of inked wrapping paper and cut around the tag. Attach to a 6 ¼” x 4” piece of
teal c/s and cut around the tag.
Attach a 4 ¾” x 6 ¼” piece of lime sparkle c/s to the front
of a 5” x 6 ½” card made from the same teal c/s. Attach tag to the left side of
card front.
Stamp fish three times on the rough side of the shrink
plastic with the Stazon black ink. Stamp Reflect in the same manner except on
the SMOOTH side, leaving enough room to trace a tag shape around it. With the
black Sharpie marker, draw some waves on the shrink plastic. Cut out all pieces
and color on the rough sides using the pencils. Punch a ¼” hole in the top of
the tag. Shrink using a heat gun or toaster oven. Edge the tag using the black
Sharpie marker and thread a piece of the cord through it and attach to the
fibers on the large tag. Attach the shrink plastic pieces (shiny side up) to the
card front as shown using an aggressive adhesive (like red liner tape). Punch
some holes out of scraps of the inked wrapping paper and glue to card front to
make bubbles.
