6x6 “Kittens” scrap book page

Supplies:

Photo of kittens

Meow background stamp (146-002J)

Paws alphabet stamps (887-101M)

Cat Border stamp (040-007D)

Black Archival ink

Paper Trimmer

Clear ruler & pencil

Tan card stock, one 6x6” piece

Ivory card stock, one 4.25 x 3.5” piece for frame and two ¾ x 6” strips for the borders

Archival adhesive of choice

1)      Stamp the back ground image using Black Archival in on foundation 6 x 6 starting at lower left corner and stamping from left to right in row working towards the top and stamping off the edge of the card stock.

2)      Stamp border stamp on ivory border strips using Black Archival ink stamping off the side edges and even with the bottom edge.

3)      Trim the top of the stamped borders using paper trimmer to 5/8 x 6”. (The extra 1/8” was to give you something to hold onto while stamping. #8)

4)      Measure in 5/8” on all four sides of 4.25 x 3.5” piece of ivory card stock marking the lines lightly in pencil and the corners with a dot.

5)      Place marked card stock in paper trimmer so one of the vertical pencil lines is centered on the cutting grove. Lift the blade arm and move the cutting head to a place on the vertical pencil line at one of the corners. Cut along pencil line from corner to corner of drawn rectangle being careful to not cut past the horizontal pencil line at the top & bottom.

6)      Lift blade arm and turn card stock 90 degrees and cut second pencil line. Turn and cut 3^rd side. Turn and cut 4^th side. The center rectangle should just fall out. If it doesn’t, take a craft knife and cut towards the corners being careful to stop at the dot.

7)      Erase any pencil lines.

8)      Stamp title with alphabet using Black Archival ink around frame.

9)      Place photo behind frame to see where you may need to crop the edges. Crop where needed so photo edges don’t show outside the frame. Mount photo to inside edges of frame.

10)  Mount border strips to top & bottom of page. Center and mount frame to page.
