“Shattered Glass” card
Supplies:
Snowman with Broom stamp (028-005D)
Snowflake Cluster stamp (013-007E)
Sm. Beautiful Snowflake stamp (013-009A)
Let It Snow stamp (190-005D)
Winter Wonderland stamp (194-004D)
Snowman Kisses stamp (194-006C)
Dye inks in pale blue, light blue, medium blue, dark blue, light purple
Markers in medium blue & purple
Wax pencil
Glossy white card stock, one piece cut to 5.5 x 4.25"
Pale blue card stock, one piece cut to 5.5 x 4.25" folded size
Large sticky notes, several pages will be needed
Stipple brush
Deckle scissors
Facial tissues
Adhesive of choice
1) Cut the sticky part of the notes into long strips ¼” wide using the scissors.
2) Place come of the cut strips around the edges of the glossy card stock.
3) Place the rest of the cut strips across the front of the glossy card stock to create a random mosaic of open spaces.
4) Stamp the snowman 3 times using the dark blue ink into to larger spaces stamping over the masking strips as needed. Let the ink dry completely.
5) Using the wax pencil, “color” all parts of the snowmen. Apply the wax liberally to achieve a thorough coverage.
6) Use the stipple brush and the pale blue ink to apply back ground color to the glossy card stock. Apply the ink so it’s a bit darker around the edges of the masked areas and lighter in the centers.
7) Stamp the 3 phrases using the medium blue ink crossing the masked lines as needed.
8) Stamp the snowflake cluster using the light blue ink randomly over the glossy card stock.
9) Stamp the sm. Snowflake using the light purple ink in the open space left from the other stamps. Let all the inks dry before the nest step.
10) Use the tissue to remove the wax from the snowmen. Make sure you get it all off.
11) Color the snowmen using the markers. Let the ink dry.
12) Remove the masking strips from the glossy card stock. (The easiest way I’ve found to do this is to remove them in the reverse order of how I put them down. i.e. the last strip down should be the first strip removed.)
13) Trim the edges of the glossy card stock using the deckle scissors.
14) Adhere the glossy card stock to the light blue card.
